Here are some tips
to help protect
storing your goods

Storage Tips & Advice

  • Safety & Ventilation

Opening your unit regularly will improve air circulation and ventilation. We advise using sheets of plastic or carboard over the floor. Small gaps should be left between items and the unit walls to further help air circulation. All Items should be thoroughly dried and cleaned before storage to help protect them and avoid rust and mould. Heavy boxes should be placed at the bottom of the unit to avoid injury. Please view the T&C so you know what items can and cannot be stored.

  • Managing Your Space

Items you regularly need to move should be stored near the entrance. Items like wardrobes or beds should be disassembled to save space. Chair can be stacked on top of each other or upside down on other items. Larger items like sofas or mattresses should be stored vertically. The container ceiling hooks can be used to hang netting, frames or support lines. Keep a walking isle down the middle of the unit to be make all items accessible.

  • Sensibly Storage

Thoroughly dry freezers, washing machines and refrigerators before storing. Clean ovens including cooking utensils to prevent mould or rust. We also recommend you store appliances with the doors slightly ajar. Please ensure all liquids are stored in sealed containers. When placing boxes remember to put the heavier items at the bottom. Labelling any boxes will also help make things easier to find.

Please check our agreement and make sure you know what you can and can’t store. No flammable or hazardous materials for example.
